The project
The Metro Tunnel is a major enhancement to Melbourne's rail network as it will help to untangle the City Loop by taking three of the busiest train lines through a new tunnel under the city. It is located at -30m below street level, from Kensington to South Yarra as part of a new Sunbury to Cranbourne/ Pakenham metro line. A 9km stormwater pumped drainage line with a PAM cast iron drainage system is installed.
